Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma star as nominees for ICC player of the month award

Banking on impressive performances, Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues star as ICC Player of the Month nominees

The India Women’s Team have played some sensational cricket off late. And as a result, they have been duly rewarded with Player of the Month December 2023 nominations. Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma starts on ICC’s list along with Zimbabwe’s Precious Marange.

The Indian eves dominated Australia and England in the two one-off Test matches, winning both the games convincingly. Both Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues were sensation with their batting and bowling performances.

Jemimah Rodrigues

The right handed batter showcased her batting prowess across all three formats of the game. While she was decent in the T20Is, she kick started the month in splendid form by slamming fifties in the two Test matches. She made her Test debut against England and stitched a crucial century run stand with Sneh Rana.

She continued her fine form in the Test against Australia where he hammered yet another fifty. In the ODI series, she slammed 82 and 44 respectively to become the highest run getter in the series. A month filled with breaking new milestones and records worked wonders and earned Rodrigues a nomination for the Player of the Month.

Deepti Sharma

Words fall short to describe the greatness of Deepti Sharma. Be it with the bat or the ball she has been sensational for India in both the Tests. Deepti was adjudged the player of the match in the Test against England. She scored 67 runs batting at number 7, scalped a fifer in the first innings and then proceeded to claim a four wicket haul in the second innings to win the Test for the hosts.

In the Test against Australia, she made 78 runs and dispatched Alyssa Healey to win the game. She continued her fine form in the ODIs when she bagged a fifer in the IND W vs AUS W 2nd ODI haunt the Aussies.
