The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) will meet in Bali for it’s Annual General Meetings (AGM). Among the other important decisions, a major decision will be taken on Jay Shah. Shah is the ACC President but he is most likely to vacate his position for the ICC Chairman role.
Though the ACC Presidential election is not on the agenda for in ACCs AGM, but the topic can be discussed. The ACC Presidential term stands for 2 years. The BCCI Secretary is currently on his second 2-year term as the head of the ACC.
The ICC Chairman position is up for grabs and Jay Shah is targeting the coveted position. Under such circumstances, Shah will have to vacate his position as the supremo of the Asian Cricket Council. The ICC Elections is slated to take place in November. As a result, the ACC will take a decision regarding it’s board members in the coming months.
Jay Shah to leave BCCI Secretary Role?
If Jay Shah wins the ICC Chairman election, then he will have to vacate his role. Not just the ACC role but also his position in the BCCI top brass. There will be a strict conflict of interest if anyone continues to hold a position in any nation’s board along with the ICC.
Under such circumstances, Jay Shah will have to vacate both his ACC and BCCI spots if he gets the ICC Chairman role
