Jasprit Bumrah takes a dig at ‘well wishers’ for showing support after clinching ICC No. 1 rank

Bumrah is the fourth cricketer and the first bowler to reach the apex of the ICC rankings in all three formats.

With the whole world celebrating the genius of Jasprit Bumrah, the faster bowler has a unique reaction to his crowning as the new Test No. 1. Earlier today, the Indian Test vice-captain became the first bowler to be ranked No. 1 in all three formats. However, Bumrah’s response to reaching the milestone was to post a cryptic post on his Instagram account.

Jasprit Bumrah’s Instagram story

Posting an image of an empty stand with just one supporter against a stadium full of people, Jasprit Bumrah took a potshot at his ‘well-wishers’. The fast bowlers seemed to be criticizing people who don’t show up during tough times but are the first to show up when they have found success.

This isn’t the first time Bumrah has posted a cryptic message online. Last year, after the Mumbai Indians removed Rohit Sharma as their captain and gave the reigns to Hardik Pandya, the pacer posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account.

Rohit Sharma was Bumrah’s first captain when he started his IPL journey with the Mumbai Indians and has played a big part in his rise as a cricketer. Following his removal, the fast bowler posted an image with the caption, “SILENCE is sometimes the best answer.”
