Jasprit Bumrah led Indian Cricket Team had a full training session after touching down in Dublin ahead of the India vs Ireland (IND vs IRE) T20 series. The Men in Blue will play 3 T20s starting on Friday, with several Asia Cup contenders and Asian Games members part of the contingent. With just a couple of days before the IND vs IRE 1st T20, the likes of Prasidh Krishna, Ravi Bishnoi, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh all featured in an optional training session.
The Indian Cricket team ‘doubled’ their intensity in their first training session after arriving in Ireland. Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, making their return from injury, bowled full tilt in the nets. Yashasvi Jaiswal had a bat out in the nets, facing some fiery bouncers from both the Indian pacers. The left-haner also had to deal with Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorkers. The Indian captain bowling full throttle is a good sign with the Asia Cup and the World Cup on the horizon.
Shivbam Dube also had a long session with the ball in hand. Filling in for Hardik Pandya, Dube is expected to play a key role after a fruitful season with Chennai Super Kings. Sairaj Bahutule was seen watching the action from close quarters, with sessions recorded for players to assess their game. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma all had a bat out in the nets.
Bumrah and coaches Sitanshu Kotak and Bahutule will make their assessments before deciding on playing XI. The squad consists of as many as 11 members from the Asian Games touring party. Ruturaj Gaikwad is also expected to play a part in the decision. Vice-captain on the Ireland tour, he will lead the Indian Cricket Team in China. The Men in Blue will have another full-fledged training session Thursday. The IND vs IRE 1st t20 is set for Friday in Malahide.
