The much-awaited 10th edition of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) will kick start on Friday (February 23) in Sharjah. Mumbai Heroes held a press conference on Monday ahead of the new season. Bollywood stars like Sohail Khan, Saqib Saleem, and Boddy Deol attended the event. During the media interaction, he announced that he would not participate in this season.
Boddy Deol was a star bowler in previous seasons, he was considered as ‘Jasprit Bumrah’ of the Celebrity Cricket League because of his bowling action similarities with Bumrah.
Deol announced that he would not be able to feature in the CCL 2024 due to his shooting commitments. However, he also said that he would play semi-final if Mumbai Heroes reached there.
“When I was studying in school, I was never allowed to go on any trip by the school. CCL has been like a trip for me and I have enjoyed it very much. But this time I will not be able to play due to shooting. But our good wishes will always be towards this team. Yes, if our team reaches the semi-finals, then I will definitely take out time and come to play,” Bobby Deol added during the press conference.
How CCL played a role in getting Bobby Deol ‘Animal’?
The Bollywood star also revealed that his performance in CCL also helped to get the role in the ‘Animal’ movie, which was a blockbluster hit.
“Luckily, because of that one picture, I got Animal. Sometimes, in life, certain things that you do and love can take you in another direction. That’s what happened with me,” Deol said.
