Jasprit Bumrah claimed his second five-wicket haul during the second day of the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test between Australia and India at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday. He dismissed Alex Carey with his first ball on Day 2 to reach this milestone. The Australian wicketkeeper had scored 21 runs off 13 balls before edging it to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.
This marks his 11th five-wicket haul in Test cricket and second in Australia. Last time he took a fifer in Australia, was in Melbourne back in 2019 with impressive figures of (6/33).

Jasprit Bumrah’s fifers in Test cricket
Jasprit Bumrah’s took his firth fifer in Test cricket in 2018 when he gave an outstanding performance against South Africa in Johannesburg. The same year, he impressed everyone again with a great show against England in Nottingham and then shone brightly in Melbourne against Australia. In 2019, he took five wickets twice in the series against West Indies, in both North Sound and Kingston.
His impressive form continued in the following years. In 2021, he again performed well against England in Nottingham. He took five-fers twice in Cape Town against South Africa in 2022. Most recently, he impressed against England in Visakhapatnam and Australia in Perth in 2024.
