Injuries have troubled each and every team as IPL 2023 has been the IPL season that has been worst hit with injuries. The latest addition for the Kolkata outfits is Jason Roy. Roy was injured in the 19th over of CSK’s innings. Ravindra Jadeja slammed a short ball from Varun Chakravarthy to mid off.
Jason Roy ran and covered quite a distance to save the boundary. But while while going down to save, he landed awkwardly on his right foot and picked up an injury. While the commentators discussed that it might have been a quad injury or calf injury, Roy was spotted holding his hips and his hamstring, indication a pull. Fans too voiced their opinions claiming it is a muscle pull.

Roy didn’t open for his side as KKR have been tasked to case 236 runs. Neither did he come to the crease when Sunil Narine was dismissed for a duck. But after Venkatesh Iyer’s dismissal, Roy did make his way into the crease.
Jason Roy had a calf problem during Pakistan Super League even though he slammed a century. He returned to England’s T20 side after missing out on the T20 World Cup berth due to a massive dip in form. But in form, he is now struggling with a calf injury.
“In football transfers, there is a mandatory medical for all players. He is coming as a substitute player. If he has a history of injury and had a calf issue in PSL, he should have had a medical before coming to IPL,” Sunil Gavaskar said during a commentary stint.
