James Bazley screamer takes Adelaide Strikers across the line in BBL 2023-24 Knockout

The Strikers will face the Brisbane Heat in the Challenger on January 22.

Adelaide Strikers (ADS) have qualified for the BBL 2023-24 Challenger. The Strikers claimed an emphatic 50-run win over the Perth Scorchers in the Knockout to set up their first clash of the season against the Brisbane Heat.

ADS reached the Challenger thanks to James Bazley’s screamer on the ropes off the bowling of Cameron Boyce to finish the match.

Batting first, the Adelaide Strikers scored 155/7 from their 20 overs. For the ADS, Jake Weatherald stood up, scoring 56 of 32 to help his side read a respectable total. For the Perth Scorchers, Cooper Connolly and Andrew Tye were the stars, taking three wickets in seven overs among them.

However, it was Lloyd Pope and Cameron Boyce who were the MVPs for the Strikers. Both leggies took seven wickets among them at just six runs per over to restrict the Scorchers to just 105. While Llyod got the ‘player of the match’ award for his 4-wicket haul, Boyce ended with three wickets in 3.2 overs.
