The IPL 2024 is less than two weeks away. As the pundits and the experts go on to analyse the teams, Aakash Chopra has pointed out that Ravindra Jadeja is not very effective in T20s. The former India cricketer claimed that CSK’s lack of Indian spinners can pose a big problem for MS Dhoni and Co.
Chennai Super Kings begin their IPL 2024 campaign against RCB in the opening game on 22nd March. While Chopra claimed that Jadeja is an effective bowler, however he claimed that Jadeja is very effective in Tests. In fact, as per Chopra, Jadeja is not very effective in the shortest format of the game.
“The best of Ravindra Jadeja comes in Test cricket. After that, ODI cricket and I keep Jadeja’s T20 bowling at the bottom in that list. Of course, the captain gets the best out of him,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel
There is no doubt that Ravindra Jadeja is a vit cog for CSK. But Chopra’s question certainly raises doubts for MS Dhoni and Co. After winning their 5th IPL title last season, CSK will be aiming to defend their coveted title in IPL 2024.
“There are slight concerns in the spin department. They don’t have any Indian spin-bowling option, barring Ravindra Jadeja, who will play in the XI…So there is more pressure on the overseas contingent, that they should do more spin bowling, which, in my opinion, is not the greatest of things,” Chopra concluded.
