Iyer & Kishan left out of AFG series due to disciplinary issues? Report suggests so

The report also claims that the selectors were impressed with the commitment shown by Rinku Singh & Shubman Gill.

The India squad announcement for the Afghanistan T20I series has raised several questions, as to who will make it to the T20 World Cup squad. While Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have made a comeback to the T20Is, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were omitted, for reasons unknown.

But now, as per a report in the Anandabazar Patrika, the reasons are out. Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer didn’t impress many with his shot selection in South Africa Test series, and was asked to play the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai. But instead, the 29-year-old Iyer asked for some time off, that didn’t go down well with the selectors.

Ishan Kishan Woes

Prior to the Test series, Ishan had asked for his exclusion from the squad, citing personal reasons. But later he was found partying with MS Dhoni in Dubai. That, once again, did not go down well with the selectors. Following that, he also appeared in a TV quiz show, that mounted his woes.
