The eagerly anticipated IPL 2024 auction is now officially slated to take place in Dubai on December 19, marking a significant global shift for the Indian Premier League. As the IPL 2024 Auction draws near, the culmination of the player registration phase on November 30 has revealed an impressive count of 1166 players vying for spots in the coveted league.

The registered players encompass a diverse array, with notable names such as Australian ODI World Cup winner Travis Head, the return of Mitchell Starc after an eight-year hiatus, and the reappearance of Australian ODI and Test captain Pat Cummins, who sat out the last edition. New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra adds an international allure to the auction.

Scheduled to unfold in Dubai on December 19, the auction will feature 830 Indian players and 336 overseas players among the registered contenders. Among the prominent Indian pace bowlers set to make an impact at the auction are Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, and Harshal Patel, all listed at the maximum base price of Rs 2 Crore.

A notable inclusion in the auction is Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who, despite being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore due to uncertainty about his availability, has thrown his hat into the auction ring. The forthcoming IPL 2024 Auction promises a dynamic blend of talent, with established players and rising stars eager to secure a place in one of the most prestigious T20 leagues globally.
