It’s a Free Hit: Mark Wood ready to recreate history, keen to have a go to win IND vs ENG Test series

IND vs ENG: Mark Wood eager to win test series, keen to recreate history in India vs England Test series

The England Cricket Team has been dubbed as underdogs in the upcoming IND vs ENG Test series. However, Mark Wood believes that the visitors have a chance. He believes it will be a free hit and will have a good against the India Cricket Team to win the series.

The England pacer was cautious while claiming that not many teams win in India. But, Mark Wood believes that they have created history in the past and will be willing to recreate the same history. In fact, India last lost a Test series at home to none other than England in 2012.

“Not many teams come here and win. It’s a free hit, to be honest,” said Mark Wood at the Pre Match Press conference.

“We’ve created history in the past. We could go down in flames but we will give it a good go,” Wood added.

The India Cricket Team will take on England in a five match Test series. The Three Lions have been dubbed as underdogs heading into India. With pundits backing India as the team to win the series by a huge margin, Wood believes they can win the series and recreate history.

England Wasteful in ODI World Cup

The defending champions England had a horrible ODI World Cup. The Three Lions managed just 3 wins and lost the other 6 games to finish 7th on the Points Table.

“We came here with big expectations and we didn’t live up to it – nowhere near up to it. It just didn’t go well. We wanted that chance to create something as a group and we fell well short. It really hurt for a while, but that’s why that was the hunger to come back into this environment. I’ve got a point to prove a little bit here. I’m ready to try to prove that was just a one-off,” concluded Wood.
