Italian cricketer throws hat in ring for IPL 2025 auction and it isn’t Joe Burns

IPL’s popularity continues to grow leaps and bounds as a cricketer from Italy has registered for the upcoming IPL 2025 auction. No, it’s not former Australian player Joe Burns who moved to Italy recently. The sole Italian who will be a part of the auction is Thomas Jack Draca, a 24-year-old who has been placed on the 325th spot on the auction registration list.

Meet Jack Draca, sole Italian in IPL 2025 auction

Thomas Jack Draca made his T20I debut for Italy earlier this year in June when the side took on Luxembourg. The Italian cricketer has played four T20Is to date and has 8 wickets to his name. He has a connection with IPL despite having registered for the auction for the first time. Draca is a part of Mumbai Indians-owned ILT20 franchise MI Emirates.

Thomas Jack Draca has also played in the Canada T20 League as a part of the Brampton Wolves. His association with the MI franchise in ILT20 could see him be roped in by the five-time champions for IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 auction dates out

The BCCI announced that the IPL 2025 auction will take place in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. 1574 players have registered themselves to go under the hammer. The pool includes ,165 Indians and 409 overseas cricketers, showcasing the global appeal of the IPL. Among the registrants are 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations. A total of 204 spots will be up for grabs as teams aim to fill their squads ahead of IPL 2025.
