It has been a proper redemption arc for Hardik Pandya. From being missing the later phase of the ODI World Cup, to being humiliated in IPL 2024, he has now helped India clinch the ICC T20 World Cup. The Indian vice captain produced a clutch performance, turning the tide of the game in India’s favor. After the game, he claimed that he remained silent when things were unfair and now that he has proved everything wrong with his performances.
As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. After 6 months of intense turmoil, trolling, humiliation, Hardik Pandya has won the T20 World Cup for his country. And his emotions ran wild, when he cried uncontrollably after bowling the last ball of the game.
“It’s very emotional, something was not clicking, but this was something the whole nation wanted. Special for me after my six months, I haven’t spoken a word, things have been unfair, but I knew there’d be a time I could shine. An opportunity like this makes it all the more special,” Hardik Pandya said after the match.
“We always believed, stayed calm, let the pressure come to them. Last over, I knew I had to execute my plans. All of a sudden my run-up speed increases. I have been in this situation, I enjoy the pressure situation,” Hardik concluded.
Redemption for Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya sustained an ankle injury in the IND vs BAN match in the ODI World Cup. This injury forced him to be out of the remainder of the tournaments as India lost in the finals. Hardik underwent the knife but recovered well before IPL 2024. And that is went he shook the headlines.
