Islamabad vs Lahore to kick off PSL 2025, Gaddafi Stadium to host most matches in proposed schedule

Instead of going ahead with their February-March schedule, PCB has been forced to shift their biggest earner to April-May due to the Champions Trophy 2025.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent all the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises the proposed schedule for the 2025 season. The mega-event, which is usually held in February and March, has already announced that they’ll host the tournament from April 12 to May 20 in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.

PSL 2025 Schedule: Venues and Season Opener

According to Cricket Pakistan, Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host ten matches (the most), followed by the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where 8 matches will be played, while the National Stadium and Multan Stadium will get five matches each. The four matches left will be hosted at neutral venues.

The reason behind just 5 matches being scheduled at the National Stadium is due to the poor turnout in the PSL 2023 season, and therefore the Karachi Kings will play only five home games in 2025. The six teams will start practicing from April 7 until April 11, 2025. The season opener will be played between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time champions Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi on April 12.

PSL 2025 Schedule: Neutral Venues and Playoffs

The league stage is expected to end on May 10, and there will be a four-day rest (May 11 to May 14). The playoffs will be played at neutral venues. Qualifier I on May 15, Eliminator on May 16, Qualifier II on May 18, and the final on May 20. The neutral venues haven’t been proposed yet, and the franchises will now review the PSL 2025 schedule proposal, and some changes may be made.
