The absence of Ishan Kishan from the domestic circuit, after opting for a break from the Indian team, is only raising doubts galore, with each passing day. The 25-year-old Kishan missed the first five Ranji Trophy encounters for Jharkhand when he was expected to play.
Now as it turns out, Kishan will miss the sixth round of matches in the Ranji Trophy as well, as per a report in Cricbuzz. The report further suggests that there are discussions if his absence will have any impact on the annual central contracts. Currently, he is in Grade C and is entitled to retainership of INR 1 crore.
Training With Pandya Brothers
It is also revealed that Kishan has been in Baroda for the last two weeks, and has been training at the Kiran More Academy. There he is putting in the hard yards with Hardik and Krunal Pandya. Meanwhile, the wicket-keeper batsman has not played a competitive match since November 2023, and had left the Indian setup during the South Africa series, in December.
