Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been released from squad for IND vs SA Tests, the BCCI informed on Sunday. In a press release, BCCI stated that Kishan had requested his release from the Test squad owing to personal reasons. KS Bharat has been named as his replacement.

“Mr Ishan Kishan has requested the BCCI to be released from the upcoming Test series against South Africa citing personal reasons. The wicket-keeper has subsequently been withdrawn from the Test squad. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Mr KS Bharat as a replacement“, BCCI’s statement read.
India will take on South Africa in a two-match Test series commencing on Boxing Day (December 26). Rohit Sharma will be back in national colours as he will lead the side along with other seniors including Virat Kohli, Ashwin, Jadeja and co.
