Ishan Kishan Pranks Shubman Gill during Photoshoot ahead of IND vs WI 1st Test

Shubman Gill is set to play at the third spot against West Indies with Yashasvi Jaiswal opening alongside Rohit Sharma.

Young batters Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill looked in jovial mood ahead of the first Test match between India and West Indies set to be played from June 12 onwards. Ahead of the match, Indian players had a photoshoot session with new Test jerseys on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kishan was seen doing a prank on Gill during the shoot.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma confirmed that Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to open alongside him with Gill playing on the third position. He further claimed that the Indian team will be going with two spinners for the first Test against West Indies. However, the names of those two are not confirmed.

India have three spinners in their squad – Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. To note, Ashwin and Jadeja have not represented India together in overseas conditions since 2021. Recently, Patel is chosen as the third spinner after these two and it could be possible that both Ashwin and Jadeja will play, while Patel will have to sit out.

Meanwhile, team India batting order will also be tested against the likes of Kemar Roach, Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel. The likes of Jaiswal, Gill, Rohit and Rahane will want to get some runs under their belt. The Indian camp also has a decision to make on KS Bharath. The visitors will be tempted to include the aggressive wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan. However, KS holds edge over Kishan in the keeping department.
