Rumors were circulating regarding the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) potentially removing Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan from the central contract list for not participating in Ranji Trophy matches.
However, a senior BCCI official has now rubbished those rumours and clarified that the board members are yet have a discussion around central contracts.
“No discussions have taken place as of now regarding central contracts”, a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying to PTI.
Notably, Ishan Kishan has been out of cricketing action since December last year. Kishan left the South Africa tour midway, owing to mental fatigue and is yet to make his return to the field.
Despite selectors and head coach Rahul Dravid’s advice of playing Ranji Trophy games, Kishan skipped the domestic games and was last seen practicing with Hardik Pandya in Baroda.
