Earlier, in this year both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were snubbed from their BCCI Central contracts. The reason given for both was that the due failed to play domestic cricket. While Shreyas Iyer returned to the domestic setup, Kishan however remained absent.

Ishan Kisan returns to Domestic Cricket
He failed to turn up for Ranji Trophy matches for Jharkhand. Ahead of IPL 2024, he practiced alone at Kiran More Academy before joining Mumbai Indians for the season.
However, Ishan Kishan’s addition to India C was a bit of a mystery. He was a last minute addition to squad. The ace southpaw wasn’t on the squad list which the BCCI had released earlier. But the Jharkhand player soon made his way to the pitch on the day of the match.
But now, he has joined India C side for the Duleep Trophy, with the hopes of performing well. A good performance for India C will greatly boost his chance in making a return to the India Cricket Team setup. While it will take a long time for him to make a return to red-ball cricket, but he can easily manage to make a comeback in T20Is, if he continues to score runs.
And he set the pace up and running by hammering back to back boundaries on his return. He marched on to 20 runs by slamming 4 fours, striking the ball with a strike rate of above 133.
