After all the drama surrounding Ishan Kishan, the pride surely had a fall. Kishan ditched National Team commitments. He returned to his country midway in the South Africa series. He didn’t make himself available for the Test series. Furthermore, when asked by the BCCI, he failed to turn up for the domestic matches.
Despite repeatedly being advised to play Ranji Trophy matches, Ishan Kishan paid no heed. In stead right before IPL 2024, he joined Hardik Pandya to begin preparation for Mumbai Indians in Baroda.
However, amidst all this long haul preparation, the end result was zero. He was snubbed off his BCCI Central Contract for 2023-24. Come his first game of IPL 2024, he didn’t trouble the scores and had to walk back to the pavilion after playing just 4 balls.
Expectations were high that Ishan Kishan might put up a blistering performance as a reply to the selectors. But nothing doing. The southpaw looked extremely uncomfortable with the bat and ended by squandering his wicket.
