Nawada burst into celebrations on Saturday as local boy Ishan Kishan scored a magnificent double century in Chattogram. The festivities were kicked off by Ishan Kishan’s grandmother and former civil surgeon Dr. Savitri Sharma. The elderly woman distributed sweets among the people as per reports. The entire community joined in their celebrations with local MLAs also calling her and congratulating her on Kishan’s effort.
Ishan Kishan’s mother also revelled in the celebrations revealing that she did not watch her son bat until he scored a half-century. Speaking to ABP News, she said it was too “nerve-wracking” for her to watch before, but as soon as Ishan went past 50, she turned on the match.

Swashbuckling Ishan Kishan became the fourth Indian to score an ODI double hundred. The left-hander put on a show of great intent in his first game on his ODI return. The Indian opener got the milestone in 126 balls, the fastest in men’s ODI history.
The 24-year-old smashed 24 boundaries and hit 10 sixes in a full onslaught on the Bangladesh attack. Kishan’s innings is a timely reminder of his talents with the World Cup coming up next year. He is also the youngest to score a double century, doing so at the age of 24. Rohit Sharma was 26 years and 186 days old at the time of his first double against Australia.
