KL Rahul took a marvelous DRS call to dismiss Dusmantha Chameera. A majestic DRS call and the third umpire sees a big spike as the ball hits the gloves of the Lankan batter, thereby giving Shami his third wicket and India’s 7th. India had already rocked the Lanka batting order and now a splendid DRS call for a wide catch destroys Lanka’s lower order.
Sri Lanka was drawn into the backfoot when India amassed a massive total of 357 runs. Siraj wreaked havoc early on to demolish Lanka’s top order. Then cam Mohammed Shami who continued his fiery spell to take 2 quick wickets.

Finally came KL Rahul’s chance to shine. A brilliant review from him saw Shami picking his third wicket of the game as Sri Lanka got reduced 22/7 in the 12 over of the game. Former India skipper MS Dhoni was brilliant with the Decision Review System (DRS) calls and India’s current keeper KL Rahul is equally good. In fact, KL has a better DRS success rate compared to MS Dhoni.

KL Rahul Special DRS Call
The incident took place on the 3rd ball of the 12th over. Mohammed Shami has continued his fiery spell after bagging 2 quick wickets. Shami bowls a short-length delivery which nicks away from the batter and goes wide. Dusmantha Chameera knows the ball is wide and angles his body away from the ball to get a wide run.
KL Rahul dives to the left to take the catch. He is the only Indian player who appeals for a caught out while Shami has turned his back to return to his spot as the other players are unconvinced of any contact of the ball with the bat or the gloves.
KL is confident and immediately signals for the DRS call. The third umpire’s slow motion shows a hint of a contact with the glove and the sneakometer shows a significant contact. The umpires are surprised as KL Rahul continues to don a smile as Sri Lanka lose their 7th wicket.
