Indian Captain Rohit Sharma was seen in a relaxed mood when he addressed the press after the announcement of the T20 World Cup 2024 squad. The Indian skipper, along with Indian Cricket team chief selector Ajit Agarkar, answered questions from the media regarding the squad selection. When asked about the absence of an off-spinner in the squad, Rohit had a playful response.
When a reporter pointed out that India has four spinners but no off-spinner in the team, Agarkar hinted that the role could be taken by Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper also responded that he would give it a try.
Rohit Sharma to play same role as T20 World Cup 2007
Rohit Sharma is the only Indian player who has participated in all editions of the T20 World Cup. In the inaugural winning edition of the T20 World Cup 2007, Rohit played as an all-rounder in the team. Fans are speculating that Rohit could also bowl in the tournament if India requires a off-spinner.
