Is Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025?

Will Jasprit Bumrah participate in the Champions Trophy 2025? The answer might be yes, but he is likely to miss the initial matches of the tournament.

The hero of India’s T20 World Cup triumph, Jasprit Bumrah, is now an uncertainty for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. After a wonderful 2024, Bumrah was supposed to lead India’s pace battery in CT 2025. However, he has suffered a major setback. The pacer is currently nursing a back injury he suffered in Australia. Reports indicate that Bumrah has a swelling in his back. Considering his history of injuries, it is a matter of concern ahead of a packed 2025.

Bumrah was not risked in the fourth innings of the Sydney Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy after he complained of back pain. He was advised to rest. While the pacer consulted his surgeon in New Zealand following the scare, scans ruled out a fracture. However, the swelling requires medical attention and rest. Bumrah will report to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru during the weekend for a full assessment.
