India Cricket Team fans have been left stunned. Star batter, Virat Kohli has failed to make it to the Team of The Year in Tests. But former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has claimed that despite having a treat Test average, it is shocking that Kohli has missed the team of the year.
In the current 2023 year calendar, Kohli has been in great form. He has amassed a good average of 59 and is still missing the Team of the Year. This has infuriated Irfan Pathan who has expressed his disbelief on the same.
“Kohli has 55 Test average in 2023 & it’s shocking that he is missing in the test team of the year,” said Irfan Pathan.
Virat Kohli has been in deft touch in red ball cricket in 2023 calendar year. In 8 Test matches so far, he has gone on to slam 2 tons and a solitary fifty. Since India has played less Test matches in 2023, it is known for certain that the likes of Kohli and Co won’t get much opportunity to score big runs and therefore be featured in the Test Team of the Year list.
Currently Kohli anchored India’s innings as he surpassed Rohit Sharma as India’s leading run-getter in WTC history. But then Kagiso Rabada came in strongly to dismiss the batter. Kohli fell short of a much deserved fifty as the former India skipper had to walk back after scoring 38 runs.
