Ireland Playing XI 2nd T20: Hosts go unchanged, opts to bowl first against India

Curtis Campher might be push up the order to stabilise the innings in case of early wickets.

Paul Stirling decides to keep the same team from the first match. The Irish skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first giving the visitors a chance to open the batting. With the series at stake, Ireland will be keen to shock their opponents after losing the previous game.

“We gonna have a bowl today. Looks a good surface, hopefully it plays well. Usually a high-scoring venue here. We are playing the seam team,” said Paul Stirling during the Toss.

Paul Stirling-led Ireland suffered a heartbreaking 2 run defeat via DLS method in IND vs IRE 1st T20I. Despite the batting failure in 1st T20I, the hosts are likely to play the same XI for the must-win game. The two teams will meet at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin on Sunday, August 20, for the second T20I.

With the rain again predicted to loom over the game, Stirling will be tempted to keep the extra pacer on a tricky pitch. Skipper Stirling would himself be eyeing a good knock as he failed to rescue his side in the series opener.
