IRE vs SA, 2nd T20: Ireland need to bounce back against South Africa to avoid series loss, boost morale ahead of T20 World Cup qualifiers-

After losing the opening T20I by 33 runs, Ireland need to ramp up their batting performances if they are to level the series and keep themselves alive in the T20I series. The likes of skipper Andrew Balbirnie and Harry Tector as well as bowlers have impressed in the ODI series and T20 opener. Now it’s time for all the other players of the team to step up as Ireland looks to bounce back in the series with just two matches left for experiments ahead of the T20 World Cup. Openers Paul Stirling and Kevin O’Brien are required to provide a good start to Ireland while George Dockrell and Lorcan Tucker need to come up with key contributions in the middle-order.

Ireland will play Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Namibia in their hopes of qualifying in Super 12 of the T20 World Cup. A series win over Proteas can help them become favorites to win the T20 World Cup qualifiers.

South Africa, on the other hand, might have missed out on the ODI series win but would look to continue their dominant run in the T20Is. They had earlier defeated defending champions West Indies 3-2. Notably, The Proteas are placed in the group of death with England, Australia, and West Indies after T20 World Cup draws. They can improve their ICC rankings to enter the top 5 by leapfrogging Australia before their final showdown in UAE in quest of a maiden ICC title.
