IRE vs SA 2nd T20: Preview

South Africa showcased their strenght in the first T20 against Ireland, as they clinched a comfortable 33-run win in Malahide. Aiden Markram held the innings together in the middle while bursts from Quinton de Kock at the top and Kagiso Rabada in the end saw the Protas register 165 on the board. Tabraiz Shamsi then followed it up with a four wicket haul to restrict the hosts to just 132, coming through on his repuation as the World No.1 bowler in ICC T20I rankings. Quinton de Kock will hope that his side can build on their performance and get some much needed momentum as they prepare for the T20 World Cup, having been drawn in a group with Wst Indies, Australia and England.

Ireland meanwhile will be hoping to pull off a performance like they did in the ODIs and level the series on Thursday. The hosts failed to get going and struggled with both bat and ball in the first T20, but will be hoping to bounce back. The performance of Harry Tector and Barry McCarthy will have pleased Ireland, and captain Andrew Balbirnie will hope that he along with senior pros Paul Stirling and Kevin O’Brien can contribute effectively.
