Ranji Trophy 2023-24 champions Mumbai will take on the Rest of India in a prestigious Irani Cup one-off five-day encounter from October 1 to 5, 2024. The match was initially planned to be held in Mumbai, but the extended monsoon season in the city became the key reason for its relocation to Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. After conquering the Ranji Trophy, the Mumbai team is all set for this challenge under their captain, Ajinkya Rahane, who is currently not part of the Indian Test setup. Alongside him, many big names are featuring for the Mumbai side, from Prithvi Shaw to Sarfaraz Khan, all participating in this Irani Cup.
For the Rest of India camp, Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the side, which includes players like Ishan Kishan, Yash Dayal, and Dhruv, who are consistently performing well in the domestic circuit and now will take on the current Ranji Trophy champions.
