2008: Shaun March – Unknown to the world of cricket, Shaun Marsh blasted onto to the scene as he won the inaugural Orange Cap for most runs in 2008. He scored 616 runs in the season.

2009: Manish Pandey – Manish first burst on the scene in 2009 and holds the accolade to be the first Indian to score a hundred in IPL history. Manish has since represented India and has been an established player.

2010: Saurabh Tiwary – Another unknown quantity, Saurabh Tiwary was one of the best finds of Mumbai Indian’s team. He was the second-highest run scorer for MI after Sachin Tendulkar, scoring 419 runs.

2011: Ravindra Jadeja – Ravindra Jadeja remains one of the best if not ‘The Best’ findings of the IPL. After missing the 2010 season through contract issues, he would contribute 283 runs along with eight wickets. Jadeja was dimmed by Shane Warne as ‘Dr. Jadeja’ while playing for Rajasthan.

2012: Sunil Narine – IPL has been the launch pad for many great names and Sunil Narine is certainly one of those, in 2012 Narine’s heroics led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their maiden title, he contributed 24 wickets in his debut season.

2013: Jasprit Bumrah – A player still regarded as one fo the finest fins of IPL, Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the most successful players in IPL history. Jasprit has won five IPL titles and has been part of the MI furniture for a long time.

2014: Sanju Samson – Yet another player who was nurtured by RR, Sanju Samson is already a legend and is currently leading the side. Sanju scored 349 runs in the IPL 2014, while Rahul Dravid was part of the team structure.

2015: Yuzvendra Chahal- The 2015 season was the breakthrough one for Yuzvendra Chahal as he scalped 23 wickets and turn the attention of the world. Only Lasith Malinga and Dwayne Bravo picked up more than him.

2016: Rishabh Pant – Pant had already made himself prominent for national side at the Under-19 level. In the third game in IPL, he showed what he is capable of. Pant could never cement his place in DD playing XI, given the team composition DD boasted of. He scored 198 runs in 10 matches.

2017: Rashid Khan – IPL 2017 will always be memorable for Afghanistan cricket. It will be even more memorable for the exploits of 18-year-old leg-spin sensation Rashid Khan. Top batsmen struggled to pick his variations. Rashid scalped 17 wickets in 14 matches.

2018: Ishan Kishan – The most expensive player in the 2022 IPL, Ishan scored 176 runs in eight innings has since represented India. The left-handed batter has a reputation of being a destructive player up the order.

2019: Shubman Gill – The batsman from Punjab had shown promise in 2018 during his maiden IPL season with the Kolkata Knight Riders, but 2019 was when he came into his own thanks in no small part to the decision to promote him to the top of the order. Shubman scored 296 runs in the season.
