Chennai Super Kings: 4-time IPL champions
Chennai Super Kings are 4-time IPL champions but they were the first team to win back-to-back titles. MS Dhoni led side won its maiden IPL in 2010 and then repeated the feat once again in 2011.
Chennai’s remaining two IPL titles came in 2018 and 2021. In addition to this, CSK has also lost a record five finals, majority of them to Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians: 5-time IPL champions
Chennai Super Kings might have been the first team to win back-to-back IPL titles, but it was the Mumbai Indians who were the first to win five IPL championships. During the process, Mumbai became only the second team, after CSK, to capture consecutive IPL crowns in straight years. They achieved the feat in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Since 2013, the year in which MI won its maiden IPL crown, the franchise has gone on to add four more IPL titles, more than any other team in the history of the IPL.
