IPL vs PSL takes new turn as MI’s new recruit served legal notice by PCB

In yet another episode of IPL vs PSL, a new recruit for MI has been served a legal notice for leaving the Pakistani league, for the Indian league.

IN a latest development, MI’s new recruit, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been served a legal notice by the PCB, for an alleged breach of the contractual obligations, as per a release by the board. The 30-year-old Corbin had come in as a late replacement for Lizaad Williams, who was ruled out of the IPL 2025 due to an injury.

It turns out that Corbin Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi too, in the Diamond Category, during the 10th edition of the PSL player draft, held in Lahore on Jan 13. The release further stated that the legal notice was served through his agent, and has been asked for a justification.

It seems that the PCB has mentioned the repercussion for his departure from PSL to IPL, and needs a response in the expected time. No other details on the matter were available. Meanwhile, Corbin Bosch has been part of the IPL before — was with Rajasthan Royals, but as a reserve player.

He was part of the SA20 winning side MI Cape Town, earlier in the year. As far as his record is concerned, he has played 86 T20s so far, and has picked up 59 wickets, at an economy of 8.38 and scored 663 runs too. Now, while it is not confirmed is Corbin would be able to participate in the IPL, in case of his absence, MI are unlikely to be affected, who have decent all-rounders in their ranks.

IPL starts on March 22 and ends on May 25, and will clash with PSL too — that is supposed to take place from 11 April to 18 May this year.
