Virat Kohli threat looms large on Gujarat Titans, has excellent record against Shubman Gill’s team

IPL 2025, RCB vs GT: Virat Kohli has a track record against Gujarat, that would worry Shubman Gill's team a bit.

On Tuesday, Virat Kohli arrived to the nets earlier than everyone, and spent around 40 minutes facing spinners and pacers, as per RevSportz. RCB are due to face GT in the next IPL 2025 encounter, and Kohli undoubtedly is the biggest threat for the visiting team. Firstly, the 36-year-old relishes batting against them, and to top it all, he has an exceptional record; something that could help RCB notch their third straight win.

Virat Kohli vs Gujarat Titans in IPL

Already in his first two matches of the season, Virat Kohli has scored 59 vs KKR, and then 31 vs CSK, and this one could be a biggie. Against GT, Kohli has played five matches and scored 344 runs, including a best of 101 not out, and at an average of 114, and a strike rate of 143. Just at Chinnaswamy Stadium, the record gets even better, as in two matches he has scored 143 runs at an average of 143 and a strike-rate of 162.

Kohli vs Prasidh Krishna and Ishant Sharma

Let’s break down the stats further. If GT decide to play the same bowlers, they could be in trouble. Vs Prasidh Krishna, in 7 innings he has scored 56 runs in 34 deliveries, and that too at a strike-rate of 164. Against Rashid Khan, he has a great record, where in 8 innings he has scored 86 from 69 deliveries. That at an average of 43, and a strike-rate of 124.

RCB vs GT, IPL 2025

Against his old friend Ishant Sharma, the record is even better for Kohli; the Delhi pacer has only dismissed him only once. In 11 innings, the batter has scored 112 runs in 76 deliveries, at an average of 112 and a strike-rate of 147. Spinner Sai Kishore has never dismissed the legend in two innings and 24 balls. Out of those, he has gotten 27 runs at a strike-rate of 112.

Only bowler that can cause trouble for Kohli is Kagiso Rabada. In 7 innings, the South African has dismissed the Indian three times. In short, if GT bowlers don’t get it right, it could be trouble calling for them.
