The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is causing riptides everywhere. And with the IPL 2024 Auction less than 2 days away, teams are gearing for a mega-affair. But that is not the end, On 20th December, a day after the Auction, the IPL Trading Window will open again for teams to buy or swap players before the tournament begins.
The rules of the IPL Trade Window are quite simple. It simply helps teams and franchises to complete their squad pre and post IPL Auction. The teams await to spend big bucks on IPL 2024 Auction on 19th December. But even after the conclusion of the Auction, teams will be allowed to trade players from the next day, i.e 20th December.
IPL 2024 Trade Window
For teams to buy players in the Trade window – there are only two ways. Either pay the price of the player full in cash or swap the player with another player.
The Trade window usually begins a month after the tournament ends and will continue a week before the IPL Auction. It again begins a day after the auction and will continue for a month before the IPL starts.
Players that can move in Trade Window?
One of the biggest names that can make a mark in the IPL Trade Window is ex Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma. MI shocked the cricketing world when they announced that Hardik Pandya will lead the charge of the Paltans in 2024.
With Rishabh Pant not being fit and likely to play for Delhi Capitals as an impact player, DC made an approach for Rohit Sharma. MI however turned down the deal, but can be tempted again in the future should Rohit force his way out on the team. As for the Capitals, they need an experienced captain to lead their side.
