Why should players have all the fun? Bollywood and cricket go hand in hand and when it comes to IPL, it’s the perfect mixture. But it’s not just about the movie stars, cricketers’ wives and girlfriends too play a pivotal role in the modern era. Thus, we bring to you a new segment Six Appeal that takes you through the support system from celebrities and the real celebrities for cricketers in their lives. In that regard, Sunday was the blockbuster. If Shah Rukh Khan was present in Kolkata, in Mumbai, there was never a lack of support from the movie stars as Kareena Kapoor & John Abraham graced Wankhede. Mumbai Indians’s Rohit Sharma also had his own support system in wife Ritika Sajdeh.
In what was a cracker of a doubleheader on Sunday, the first game (KKR vs LSG) at the Eden Gardens was graced by none other than Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. Other celebs who were present to witness KKR’s carnage included SRK’s son Abram, daughter Suhana Khan, actor Rahul Bose and actress Raima Sen among others. The second match between MI and CSK at the Wankhede stadium wasn’t short of celebs either.
King & kin cheer for Knights
IPL and Bollywood go hand-in-hand, without a doubt. While match between KKR & LSG might have fallen short on the entertainment value, it was more than compensated for, with Shah Rukh Khan, his daughter Suhana Khan, and actor Ananya Panday in attendance at the Eden Gardens.
Who’s the Bose?
The Knights weren’t short of any sort of support. Actors Rahul Bose and Raima Sen made their presence felt too. No wonder, LSG fell short on the day, since they didn’t have any Bollywood support of note, on the day.
Shootout at Wankhede
Cut to Mumbai, and it was even a stronger star cast for the MI vs CSK encounter. None other than John Abraham was present in the gallery. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough on the day.
Love via crossed fingers
Hitman’s better half, Ritika Sajdeh, as usual was present for the match. While her crossed-fingers ensured Rohit scored his second-ever IPL ton, but the magic could not change the result of the match. CSK cruised to a 20-run win over MI.
Bebo for Hitman!
Kareena Kapoor cheering from the stands should have been a big morale booster for the Mumbai team. But there’s hardly anything that works over Mahi magic. Guess, that was the case once again at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Better luck, next time.
