IPL retention 2025 date
Since the IPL governing council has set a deadline for all franchises to submit their retention lists by 31st October before 5 PM IST, which is not far away, we will soon see how many players each team has retained ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

How many players can be retained in IPL 2025
Speaking more about the retention rules, franchises can retain a maximum of six players, which can be done either before the auction or via the Right to match cards during the auction. In this retention, they can have a maximum of two uncapped players. Each team can retain a maximum of five capped players as well, with no limit on Indian or overseas players.
