But the BCCI this time was mulling to sell some of the IPL Rights package in a non-exclusive format to attract more broadcasters & more revenues – exactly like the way EPL sell its rights.

According to available information, KPMG, the BCCI Consultants for the IPL Media Rights tender presented the idea to create a non-exclusive category exactly on the lines of EPL.
But the idea has been dropped after lukewarm response from the forces with in the BCCI as well as other stakeholders.

IPL 2022 Media Rights – IPL Strategic Timeout Duration Increase? Another idea that is being mulled is to increase the duration of IPL Strategic Timeout.
From 150 Seconds to 180 Seconds: To help broadcasters recoup their investment, the BCCI is also believed to be planning to increase the strategic timeout duration to three minutes from the existing 150 seconds.
Usually, there are about 100 units of 30 seconds each (about 3000 seconds) for advertisements, including timeouts, in an IPL game.
Extended timeout duration means more time for the inventories.
When will IPL Media Rights Tender Released? It was expected that IPL Media Rights tender will be released before the end of month of February. But now the tender is likely to be released in next 5-10 days.
