IPL Auction: Unmukt Chand could make IPL comeback after 9 years, Saurabh Netravalkar misses out

IPL Auction: The last time Unmukt Chand played in the IPL was in 2016, where he played one match for MI.

IPL Auctions are always with the wide variety of players, that go under the hammer. Sometimes, the old war-horses are picked, and sometimes players in their teams make the cut. And there are also times, when the players from associate nations are selected by various franchises. This time around, USA players will be the ones, who would try their luck at the IPL Auction 2025.

Unmukt Chand to be Part of IPL Auction

And one name headlining the event will be former India U-19 World Cup winning skipper Unmukt Chand. The 31-year-old, who didn’t get a chance to prove his worth in India, moved to the USA this year, in search of greener pastures, and this could just be his big break. In fact, he is no stranger to the IPL, having last played in the league for MI in 2016.

In all he has played 21 matches, and scored 300 runs at an average of 15, with a highest score 58, and a strike rate 100. He has also plied his trade for DC and RR in the past. But it remains to be seen, whether, if at all, Unmukt Chand will be picked by any team in the IPL Auction.

Saurabh Netravalkar Misses Out

On the other hand, Saurabh Netravalkar, who emerged as one of the most successful bowlers in the T20 World Cup, was not shortlisted. In must be noted, that Netravalkar boasts of a decent T20 record, where he has picked up 51 wickets in 43 matches at an economy rate of 6.88.

He was expected to be on radar of a few teams, but it is still not confirmed, if his unavailability was due to teams not wanting him, or his prior commitments. Apart from that, overall, over 500 players will participate at the IPL Auction, slated to take place on November 24, 25 in Jeddah.
