IPL Retention, Rishabh Pant Released

And it would be no surprise if the man ends up becoming the highest-paid player in IPLs history. The two-day event that is scheduled to take place in the third week of December, could see teams like PBKS and CSK vociferously fighting for just one player. Meanwhile, a new report in PTI suggests, that the main reason for his decision to leave the franchise was, his depleted power, and also the onboarding of Hemang Badani and Venugopal Rao as coach and team director.

That would mean, a huge, huge salary hike for Rishabh Pant. “Rishabh’s real bidding will start from Rs 20 crore onwards. There will be three teams who can afford to bid big for him. One is Punjab Kings with Rs 110.5 crore in its kitty. They need a new captain and a brand. RCB has Rs 83 crore and LSG have Rs 69 crore and they also need a new captain,” a top official of a franchise told PTI.

Rishabh Pant in CSK?

“Gujarat Titans don’t need a captain but they also have Rs 69 crore. DC has Rs 73 crore but why would they go for someone, they released under acrimonious circumstances,” he added. On the other hand, former CSKian, Suresh Raina has raised hopes for Pant’s entry into CSK. That could see him get a sum of at least 25-30 Cr, which would shatter all records, even Mitchell Starc’s money record set by KKR this season.
