After India debut in 2024, batter Sarfaraz Khan would have hoped to make an IPL comeback. But that did not happen, as no team bid for him at the IPL 2025 Auction, despite keeping his base price to only INR 75 lakh. What was even surprising is, there wasn’t even a deliberation from any team, to get him. The last time he played in the IPL was in 2023, for DC.
No Buyers for Sarfaraz Khan at IPL Auction
On the other hand, Sarfaraz’s brother Musheer Khan, who made waves last year during the domestic season, was bagged by PBKS for INR 30 lakh, at his base price. The all-rounder could add value to the Punjab team, who spent a fortune on players like Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal. He is excellent with the bat, and can offer left-arm spin.
Having said that, Musheer has never played a T20 match for his state, Mumbai. In fact, he has been out of action for a few months now, owing to an accident. But speaking about his FC record, in 9 matches, he has scored 716 runs at an average of 51, and also picked up eight wickets as well.

Meanwhile, there were a few notable names at the IPL Auction, who went unsold. The list included Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith and Umran Malik.
