The Indian board met with all 10 franchise owners including the two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow on Saturday. On this very day though the Secretary Jay Shah confirmed February 12-13 as dates, franchises were asked to wait for few day for the board to finalize the auction venue.

“The mega IPL Auction will take place on February 12-13th and we will lock in the venues before that. I am delighted to confirm that the 15th season of the IPL will start in the last week of March and will run until May end,” Jay Shah said in a statement.

IPL 2022 Auction: 1,214 players register for IPL 2022 Player Auction: According to information given by the BCCI, Total of 1,214 players (896 Indian and 318 overseas players) have signed up to be part of the IPL 2022 Player Auction.

The two-day Mega Auction will see 10 Teams bidding for some of the finest talents in world cricket.

The players list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 Associate players.

  • Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, West Indies allrounder Odean Smith have not been shy of marking their reserve price in the 2-crore bracket.
  • Tamil Nadu batter Shahrukh Khan, who is likely to get a massive bid and even rejected an offer from his previous franchise Punjab Kings, has put his base price at the minimum of INR 20 lakhs.
