BCCI Secretary Jay Shah recently announced that players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will get a match fee of INR 7.5 lakh per game in addition to their contracted amount from the next season. The decision is set to play a massive role in terms of players earning in the IPL. Let us check out how much a player can earn from a single match after Jay Shah IPL announcement.
Prize money for each IPL match
Apart from receiving Rs 7.5 lakhs for a single match, each player also has a chance to get their hands on the post-match awards and cash prizes. In IPL 2024, there were as many as six awards given to players, with each having a prize money of Rs 1 lakh.
After Jay Shah’s IPL announcement, each player will have a chance of earning about Rs 10 lakhs/match if they manage to get their hands on a couple of post-match awards. As mentioned above, this earning is not included in player’s IPL contract.
