IPL 2025: SRH captains over the years ft. Shikhar Dhawan, Pat Cummins & David Warner

Since their inception in 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad have seen ten different players lead the side.

After a long while, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have a stable captain in Pat Cummins. Since David Warner left in 2021, SRH has announced four different captains in two seasons. These changes haven’t favoured the franchise. They had made the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs from 2016 to 2020, which included one title in 2016 and one final in 2018, but haven’t been in the reckoning since.

After Warner’s poor season as captain in 2021, he was let go. They finished 8th (last) in 2021, but Kane Williamson couldn’t do much better, and SRH ended 8th again in 2022, while Aiden Markram struggled and ended 10th (last) in 2023. Things are better under Cummins as they reached their first IPL final after 6 years. As the Australian bowler gets ready to take them to their second title, let’s check out how many captains SRH has had and what their record is.
