The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have made just one change for their second Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), with Fazalhaq Farooqi going out and Wanindu Hasaranga replacing him at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
RR back Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga comes in
The move from interim RR captain, Riyan Parag seems rather shocking. In the last match, Jofra Archer had gone for 76 runs in his 4 overs, breaking the record for most runs conceded by a bowler in an innings in the IPL. However, RR have continued to back their Rs 12.50 crore pick.

It was a shock when RR had decided to leave Hasaranga out against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, considering he was their only genuine all-rounder. But after conceding 286 runs, they have decided to bring the Sri Lanka all-rounder into the mix.
“Lot of positives; the middle order really stepped up (last game). Lots of positives with the ball as well. Looking for a good result here. Just one change from the last game – Hasaranga comes in, Farooqi steps out,” Parag said after losing the toss and being put in to bat first.
As expected, Sanju Samson will be playing as the impact player. His finger injury continues to force him to play as a batter, and that’s why he’ll go out in the second innings with a bowler replacing him.
