MI vs RCB, IPL 2025: Mumbai Indians have received a massive boost on their return to Wankhede. Hardik Pandya and Co will welcome back pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who returns after a long-term injury. Rohit Sharma, who missed the last game due to injury, is also set to make a comeback on Monday vs RCB.
MI have had their typical rocky start to their campaign, and Hardik Pandya will hope to arrest his team’s slump on Monday. Back at their fortress, the MI star’s put in the hard yards in training, gearing up for a clash against Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The star-studded clash goes up a notch, with the return of two MI superstars. With a high-intensity clash on the cards, both Rohit and Bumrah went straight up against each other, trying to get into rhythm.
Jasprit Bumrah plays in MI vs RCB
Speaking ahead of the MI vs RCB clash, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardena confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah is fit and available for the game on Monday.
“He is available. He is training today, so he should be available tomorrow. He arrived Saturday. And I believe he had his sessions with NCA to finalise that. He has been handed over to our physios. So, yeah, it should be his bowling today. All good and he will play tomorrow.”
Bumrah has been missing in action since playing all 5 tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in December-January. The India spearhead has since missed the Champions Trophy campaign and all four of MI’s games so far.
Rohit Sharma himself missed out of the XI on their trip to Lucknow last time out. The 37-year-old was hit on the knee in practice before the LSG vs MI game. Jayawardene also confirmed that while the Hit-Man was back in training, a call on his fitness will be taken later. Rohit has been in a poor run of form, scoring 0, 8 and 13 in three matches of IPL 2025/
“Rohit looks good. He is going to bat today as well. We were travelling yesterday. He will have a hit today so we will do an assessment on that,” Jayawardene told reporters.
Rohit, Bumrah for MI
Mumbai Indians are languishing are 8th place in the points table, with just a solitary win in four games. Hardik Pandya and Co have struggled for form and will need their superstar duo to return to their best.
Bumrah is one of the best in the world, and MI will be keen to reunite him with Boult and Chahar to form a potent pace attack. Rohit, meanwhile, has struggled to get runs but will hope to turn around his form as the season progresses. The former MI skipper has scores of 0,8, and 13.
