IPL 2025 Retention: How many RTMs do each team have before IPL 2025 Mega Auction?

Teams like KKR and RR who have retained 6 players will have no RTM available during the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

The stage is now set for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The Retention Lists have been officially announced by each and every team. So now the excitement continues to rise in finding out how many Right To Match (RTM) remain for each side after their retentions. There are a few sides who have no retentions left after having kept 6 players. While there are teams that have more than 2 RTMs as well. Let’s delve more into seeing how things stand for each team.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have spent the most in the IPL 2025 Retention List. They have retained 5 of their top players, including the Big 4. And with their budget heavily depleted, they also have their RTMs reduced as well. In fact, Mumbai Indians now have just 1 RTM left for the Auction which they can use only for an uncapped player.

Punjab Kings have gone on to retain just 2 players. They have the highest purse left as well as the RTMs. With 2 uncapped players done, PBKS now has the option to use 4 RTMs but those will be only for Capped players.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

RCB has retained just 3 players for IPL 2025. These include Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal. The Bengaluru outfits now have 3 RTMs left heading into the IPL Mega Auction. The team can use it for 1 uncapped and 2 capped players or directly for 3 Capped players.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals have gone on to retain 4 players. These include 3-star players and 1 uncapped player. With 4 players already in the side, DC has 2 RTMs remaining. The Delhi outfits can use the RTMs for 1 uncapped + 1 capped player, or directly for 2 capped players as they deem fit.
