Mumbai Indians have greatly bolstered their coaching setup. Former England coach Carl Hopkinson has joined 5-time IPL Champions as their fielding coach. The inclusion of Hopkinson sees former fielding coach James Pamment leave the side after a long spell of 7 years.
The 43-year-old former Three Lions coach is a two-time World Cup-winning coach with the England Cricket Team. He was a part of the coaching faculty when England lifted the ODI World Cup in 2019. And then three years later he helped his country win the T20 World Cup back in 2022.
MI bid adieu to James Pamment
“With this change in personnel, our long-serving fielding coach James Pamment bids adieu to the #OneFamily after seven years of invaluable contributions where he won two trophies in 2019 and 2020. We would like to thank him and wish him all the best for his future endeavours. You will always be greeted with the same love at आमच्या Wankhede, Commander!” Mumbai Indians said in their official release.
After a couple of disappointing seasons, Mumbai Indians will be ready to reclaim their lost glory. 4 seasons have passed as MI has failed to reach the IPL Playoffs. The lowest came last season when the team under Hardik Pandya finished at the bottom of the Points Table.
After the IPL 2025 Mega Auction rebuild, the Mumbai outfits will now target the IPL trophy once again as they plan on becoming the first team in history to win the title for a record 6th time.
