The numbers are doing the talking now as the third week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, April 7 – 13. With tons of runs scored and plenty of wickets taken, the tournament has already witnessed several record-breaking moments. From players surpassing legendary names to teams setting new milestones, the stats from the opening week have certainly grabbed attention.
In just one week, many records have been shattered, while others have been etched in history, making the first phase of the season highly eventful. But which stats and records are still being discussed? Let’s take a look at some of the most talked-about records from IPL 2025 that have gained attention.
April 7: RCB end Wankhede jinx
After a decade, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) managed to beat the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium. RCB are enjoying a great IPL 2025 season; a few days back, they also managed to beat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium for the first time in 17 years.
April 8: 2nd fastest IPL hundred by an Indian
In his fourth match for the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Priyansh Arya smashed the joint-fourth fastest hundred by a batter in the IPL. He took CSK down, scoring his century in just 39 balls. This was the fastest-ever ton against CSK and the second fastest by an Indian, behind Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball hundred in 2010.
April 10: Highest 5th or lower wicket partnership for DC
KL Rahul unveiled his 2.0 version against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. At his home, the wicketkeeper buried the home team. Rahul scored 93 (53)* and stitched the highest ever fifth or lower wicket partnership, unbeaten 111 runs with Tristan Stubbs, for the Delhi Capitals. Later, Rahul pulled out a special celebration.
April 11: CSK record lowest score at Chepauk
CSK’s poor season went from bad to worse, as they lost their 5th consecutive match of the IPL 2025 season. They succumbed to just 103 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. This was their lowest-ever score at their IPL home ground.
April 12: Highest IPL score by an Indian
A few days ago an opener, Priyansh Arya, scored one of the fastest IPL hundreds. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) southpaw opener, Abhishek Sharma, didn’t like the fact that he was being one-upped. So he scored the fifth-fastest hundred by a batter in the IPL. But that wasn’t it. He also broke KL Rahul’s record for the highest-ever individual score by an Indian batter.
April 13: MI’s run-out hat-trick
The week ended on a note that no one could expect. A hat-trick was taken by MI, but not by a bowler but by their fielders against DC. Playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the home team was 191/8 and needed 15 runs to win from 9 balls. From there, three run-outs on consecutive balls happened, and MI won by 12 runs.
