The Delhi boys have kept the IPL 2025 lively so far. While Digvesh Rathi has given send offs four times, attracting fines, it’s Harshit Rana who has joined the party. Rana, who is now an Indian pacer, gave a cold send-off to his Delhi teammate Priyansh Arya, after dismissing him for 22 after getting hit for a six on the first ball in the PBKS vs KKR, IPL 2025 clash in Mullanpur on Tuesday.
Arya, who has been on fire in his debut season, was batting on 22 off 11. He hit three fours and a six in his brief stay as Punjab Kings were on fire in the powerplay. But Harshit Rana’s spell changed it all. Arya was the first to go as Ramandeep Singh took an easy catch. The Delhi youngster tried to hit whip it for a six over the deep square. However, he mistimed and the ball took a leading edge to land safely in Ramandeep’s hand. As Arya was walking back, Rana gave him a cold send off, smiling at him, as he won the battle despite the first-ball six.
Arya’s dream IPL
In his debut season in IPL, Priyansh Arya has had an excellent tournament. Making his name in the Delhi Premier League with six sixes in an over. With Punjab Kings picking him from the auction for Rs 3.2 cr, he has since made a name.
Arya scored a quickfire 47 off 23 balls against Gujarat Titans, announcing his arrival with aggressive stroke play. His standout performance came against Chennai Super Kings when he smashed 103 off 42 balls, including 7 fours and 9 sixes. That 39-ball century is the second-fastest by an Indian in IPL history (behind Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball ton in 2010) and the fastest by an uncapped player.
However, it was a dream spell by Harshit Rana. In his first spell, Rana removed Arya, Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh to ratle Punjab Kings in the powerplay. He bowled 3/25 in the first spell.
